...that an American billionaire would select Sheffield as THE place to build a luxury resort for the purpose of raking in profits? I mean, yes, the land was cheap, but you'd think that profit would be better if the hotel were somewhere people actually wanted to go.

That's the kind of stupid thing that sticks in my head two days after an episode.

Perhaps he sold it as THE place to stay if you want to watch Manchester United play? (Put on transport and everything) Otherwise no, I can't say I'd rush to go there. It's not exactly got the same pull as York, has it....

Looking at a map... Maybe if you want to visit the Peaks? Honestly, Google Maps indicates that Sheffield is a lot larger than I thought, but it still doesn't seem like a resort town. Now York... I've been there twice and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Segue. I was thinking of doing that vague area next holiday - maybe north Wales, and then Liverpool, Manchester, or Leeds. Or perhaps I need to do something new, like Devon/Cornwall. Or spend the entire time up in the Highlands. :D

Also, I had no idea that's where Derbyshire was. After all this time and the multiple re-reads of Pride & Prejudice, I always thought it was further east, like near Norwich. Now I see it on a map and I'm like, durr, why didn't I check this before? Sigh.
