I've been writing and posting David stories for so long, I've only just realized that now that I'm posting non-David stories, I can actually post them on A Teaspoon and an Open Mind! I posted that little short yesterday on all the usual places and only realized two hours later that ATaaOM would take it. And just now, it occurred to me that I can put Journey of a Lifetime there as well. It's weird, but I feel like my exile has been lifted. I wonder if I have any other stories that I've forgotten to post there?

I'm curious (and obviously missing some context), but why have you not been able to post David stories there? I ask because it's a place I never actually got round to posting at and so I don't know the rules. I keep thinking I should check it out, but then get a bit lazy.

Because, sadly, David Tennant is a real person. Well, David Tennant being a real person is good for us, but bad for posting fics about him. ATaaOM has a rule against RPFs (real-person fanfics), so none of these stories can be posted there, even though they are set within the DW universe (as opposed to most RPFs, which are stories about the real people in the real world).

fanfiction.net also has a rule against RPFs, but they seem to be lax about removing stories in which the real person is in the fan universe, so they haven't touched any of my David stories, or any of the other David Tennant-meets-the-Doctor stories I've seen there. archiveofourown.org accepts pretty much anything.

Ahhh, makes sense. Sort of. I mean if it's in the universe it seems ok to me, but I guess rules are rules.

Yup, I'm okay with following the rules, but I did ask them to make sure. I did wonder if I had changed David's name and put in an author's note saying, "In a parallel universe, Daniel Thompson is a famous actor known for playing the tenth version of the Doctor in the popular science-fiction television series Doctor Who..." if they would have allowed it. ;)

You may have a couple you missed putting up there. I've been there myself, lol!! Get so caught up in stuff that can't be posted somewhere, you forget to post the things you CAN post!
