[Error: unknown template qotd]When shopping for clothes, the best method is to take my best friend along with me and let her choose the clothes. It's a disaster for all involved if I'm left to my own decisions when it comes to clothing.

On the other hand, I have learned that if I must shop for myself, mannequin displays are invaluable tools. Almost every time I've had a compliment about my clothing, I've been able to truthfully reply, "Thank you. I saw it on a mannequin and thought it might suit me."

I have legs that are short, even for my short height, which makes it virtually impossible to buy clothes in shops. Anything that will go over my hips is way too long for my legs (and I'm average to low BMI, so it's not like I have huge hips). As a result almost everything I buy is from Lands End, which lets you specify leg length when you order. In some ways the restrictive choice benefits my wardrobe.

Hrm. I wonder why I never got a notification that you (and another) commented on this post?

Anyway, I'm short and very thick-waisted, so any pants I buy will be too long in the leg (and likely baggy in the hips) and I have to hem or roll it up. Thank you for the tip on Land's End! I will have to check them out.

Hee!! That is rather awesome actually! I know the opposite...if it looks good on a mannequin, it will likely look terrible on me. :D
