[Error: unknown template qotd]Hm. I can't say that I recall crying at a movie in the theater in recent memory, but then the types of movies I tend to go see aren't tearjerkers. I'm sure that I would cry if I saw the right movie.

TV is a different story, but possibly only because I watch much more TV, so there are more chances. I've cried many times over Doctor Who, and still do - outright bawling at the ends of "The Family of Blood", "The Last of the Time Lords", "Journey's End", and "The End of Time", every time I watch them. I know the first time I saw "Doomsday", I cried, but it's completely lost its punch. Interestingly, since "The End of Time", I've had almost-tears moments but no outright crying for four seasons now - the closest was "The Doctor's Wife". I also tear up every time in "The Day of the Doctor", when Ten and Eleven join War to fire the Moment. Hm - I saw that in the theater, and I'm pretty sure I cried then, so there, I cried in the theater.

The most recent sob was at the end of season one of Arrow, when Tommy died - my favorite character on the show and such a tragic death.

I don't know many people who've cried at the movies - and fewer still who cry over Shows. That being said, we've all cried at the end of episodes of Doctor Who, lol!!

*HUGS*

I'm assuming people cried at the end of Titanic? I mean, the ship sinks and everyone dies at the end of that, right? :) No, I've never seen it. My mother-in-law tried to get me to go see it with her, but I managed to weasel out of it. Just not my kind of thing.

Never seen it myself, actually. Do not need the eyestrain from my eyeballs constantly rotating to the heavens. Nor do I need insipidness to put me to sleep. I can nap on my own.

Nor do I need the feeling of 'OMG kill it!' every time I see yet ANOTHER out-take (courtesy of my sister) where KW is phoning it in...poorly. And Dicaprio is chewing scenery. Normally I like these two actors. I do NOT like them in the 'out-takes'. And personally a movie about a spoiled, adulterous child throwing a snit-fit over a necklace or some shit and watching (whilst simpering) as her ill-fated boy-toy drowns is not my idea of a good time.

Sorry...sorry...

I guess I had more feelings on this movie I was fortunate enough to NOT see than I thought, lol!!

[I also tear up every time in "The Day of the Doctor", when Ten and Eleven join War to fire the Moment. At least I would like to think they were...

Weird, I don't know why I didn't get a notification about this comment.

Now that's an interesting thought! I hadn't thought about Donna in that context. I tear up because Ten and Eleven have finally come to terms with the War Doctor's actions and transcend themselves to come back and support him. It's just a beautiful moment. (Though, while I love "The Day of the Doctor" to bits, I do feel that it completely ruined that storyline and character growth by then "retconning" the whole end of the Time War and the Doctor's decision to use the Moment.)

Indeed, that was my first thought, was how Donna had placed her hands on his to push the lever in "Fires of Pompeii," knowing that he's had to make similar decisions in his past, knowing that it was the only decision possible, and showing her support with her action. That led me to what you said, that Ten and Eleven reconciled themselves with the decision that had to be made at the time, and were showing their support by action.... as for the rest of it, you're right, it totally negated all of the character growth and the gravity of the decision that had to be made to save the rest of the universe. To make them forget was cruel, too.

Who tears ftw! ♥ I very often get teary with Father's Day, and sometimes with really powerful epic moments—funnily enough, some that aren't particularly tragic, just gripping, the finales for instance… It just leaves me breathless.
