I also usually don't ship, but I'll try for this meme. :)

Three words I would use to describe this character: Blunt, fallen paladin

All the people I ship romantically with this character: (I can't list myself, can I?) This is the one question I'm being absolutely honest about (the rest, I'm using my imagination). No one at the moment. Hardy is not suitable for anyone (or, perhaps, no one deserves him).

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Hardy/Miller. Their awkward friendship is perfect and Broadchurch would not be as compelling without it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He and Miller should never have a romantic relationship.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Hardy should have died on the operating table, leaving Miller to finish his work for him.

Ohhh, love the Doctor/Rory reference. *Grins* I must admit, I also went 'Roooorrrrrryyyyyyyy!!!!' when I first saw the Reverend. I just...yeah. Rory. LOL!!

(Then again, I also shout that at the screen during The Blacklist - though it is more 'OMG! Evil!Rory!' - cause whoever cast that actor wanted an American Rory with glasses. I'm totally serious. Quiet badass, dude)

I've seen a good deal of fanfic out there which either gets Hardy to actually be the Doctor one way or another, or pits another DW/Torchwood character against him being confused all the time how much he looks like the Doctor, or other similar scenarios...

Seems like the first thing a lot of people do when they become David Tennant fans is try to cross over as many of his characters as possible. XD

Guilty as charged! Let's see, I've done DW/Casanova and DW/Broadchurch, but they were just humorous one-shots. I've thought about doing a DW/Broadchurch crossover in which some DW character meets up with Hardy, but I've seen at least two excellent ones and really don't think I could do it any better. And then there's my DW/HP crossover which was an actual adventure, about the Doctor's resemblance to Barty.

I wonder why it's so common to cross over DT characters? Maybe because he's done so many diverse compelling characters? For me, it might just because I'm focused on DW and I don't know the other actors' works at all. I've only seen Christopher Eccleston in Heroes and Thor: The Dark World, and I don't know a single other thing that Matt Smith has been in.

Matt Smith has been in some other stuff, but yeah, not such a laundry list as David has. I think it's that people like to pack in as much Tennant as they can get! I read a Takin' Over the Asylum fic the other day where they had Peter Carlisle and Alec Hardy be his cousins, which was a bit weird. Rather Patty Duke thing going on there. Although I confess I've toyed with the idea of making a set of Rock Band characters that are all different DT characters, lol. (Right now the set we haven't played with for months are HP characters - Sirius, Severus, and Lily.)

Ah, Takin' Over the Asylum! I have that on DVD now, and I just *need* to make time to watch it! I've been wanting to see it for months now.

bas_math_girl writes a lot of fics with many different Tennant characters thrown in, plus usually Donna, completely and utterly AU to any fandom. It's rather silly on the face of it, but I really enjoy her writing - it's a lot of fun and usually brings a smile to my face.

Funny about the Doctor/Rory bit!

Hubby, who hadn't seen much Doctor Who, did see some episodes with Rory and recognized him in Broadchurch. He cried out, "It's Rory! What's Rory doing there?" I cracked up!

(He also finally recognized Noel Clarke in Star Trek as being Mickey... took him a while on that one, though!)

I found you through Doctor Who, so I'm curious about your Potter thoughts. My favorite is Severus Snape, but I understand he can be divisive, so if you're not fond of him, how about go for Sirius Black instead?

Snape is my favorite character from HP - to me, the series was about him. The individual books were enjoyable, but the overall story arc would not have been interesting if it wasn't for Snape's story.


Three words I would use to describe this character: Loyal, brave, adamant

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Lily. James did not deserve her.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Snape and Lupin. Honestly, if they had given it a chance, they were perfectly suited to understand and support each other.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He had so much more character and integrity than James or Sirius. Dumbledore was right - they sort too early.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: His story was so perfect. The one thing that I do wish was that he had gotten some hint of reciprocation from Lily, just before he died. (How would that have happened? It's a magical world, anything can happen.)

My het ship: Severus/Lily

My fem/slash ship: Hard to picture Snape with anyone else. Snape/Lupin, I guess?

My OTP: Severus/Lily. They were so good for each other.

My OT3: I'm going to state that this is family and not romantic: Severus, Lily, and Harry. Severus would learn to like Harry out of love for Lily, and we've already seen that Harry respects Severus.

My cross over ship: This is going to be weird. Severus/Kaylee Frye. She has that almost-naive ability to accept everyone and see the beauty inside that would work so well with Severus, and if he could engage her, she'd be loyal forever.

Ooh, Snape is the most complex character in the whole series. You never quite know him or his motivations, you never know what side he's truly on until the very end. You really wonder about Dumbledore's faith in him. It's fascinating to read about someone with so many layers.

Oh, FUN! But which Master?

Three words I would use to describe this character: Megalomaniacal, devious, obsessive

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I'm just going to defer to the comments below about ships.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Master/Doctor (any incarnations)

My unpopular opinion about this character: I like the over-the-top insanity of the Simm!Master. I also like the hammy feel of the Ainley!Master. To me, the single most important character trait of the Master is his yearning for power and rule, and they both had that. They just worked for that in different ways. And it's something that the Gomez!Master lacks, which rubs me completely the wrong way.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish Roger Delgado had survived, not only because it was such an untimely and tragic death, but also because I would have liked to have seen the original conclusion to the Master's story.

My het ship: I can't really think of a real romantic het ship for the Master, but I'd say Delgado!Master/Mercy Hartigan would have been a great villain duo.

My fem/slash ship: Simm!Master/Ten. No other choice. I've heard Shalka Master/Shalka Doctor is pretty hot, but I haven't seen it yet, and I still need to acquaint myself with the MacQueen Master.

My OT3: I don't know about this. I'm thinking something like Koschei/Ushas/Theta Sigma. The idea of the three tightly bonded together before the events that broke up the Deca is very appealing.

My cross over ship: I'd like to say Simm!Master/MCU!Loki, but there's too much chaos in that. They wouldn't be able to take over the universe simply because neither has enough control. They'd be their own worst enemy, sort of like Cyric is with himself.

Nice answers! :) I quite agree about Simm!Master, I really love him. And he's my first and main reference as I'm only just getting to classic Masters with Delgado, so that plays as well. Gomez!Master could have used a stronger sense of purpose in something that wasn't about the Doctor, for sure.

Well, maybe they will develop her character a little bit more in Series 9? Rumor has it she's coming back... One can live in hope, right?

I also liked the crazy Simm!Master, he was absolutely nuts! The thing is, by that point, the Doctor was also somewhat crazy/shattered as well after he had to leave Donna without her memories, so they made a great counterpoint to each other.

Hope is always good! Personally, my reservations about some aspects of her character, Missy remains one of the highlights of s8 for me so I'm definitely keeping my hopes up for her s9 appearances.

*nods* The exchanges rather worked. Well, there were a few messy things about The End of Time, but as far as the Master was concerned, his charisma and chemistry with Ten made up for a lot of weirdness in the rest (the whole human race looking like the Master XD just… what)
