Watched episode three last night.

FUCK.

My heart was pounding for a good fifteen minutes after it was over (much like it did when I watched the final episode of "The Escape Artist"), and it's starting again as I think about it.

No spoilers here. Just... FUCK.

I have to agree with you there, even if I thought that might happen... still very shocking.

Yeah, I thought it might, too, but wow!

There's a lot of things so far that I thought might happen (and did), but it's all in the way it's portrayed, and the actors are doing a really great job of it! The same concept applies here as it did last season. It's not necessarily about the events themselves, but how it affects the people on a gut level.

"It's not necessarily about the events themselves, but how it affects the people on a gut level."

Exactly. And it's why Gracepoint was completely unremarkable, because it tried to be a murder mystery.

This seems to be the general opinion of tumblr, too. I strolled into the #broadchurch tag for larfs just after episode 2 in fact, and it was full of single-word text posts just reading FUCK in all capital letters. lol.

You know, I was so afraid, before the season started, that they wouldn't be able to maintain the intensity of the show that made the first season so good, especially because I was absolutely sure it wasn't going to be another murder mystery. My fears have been alleviated. They have outdone themselves so far.

It really is! My best friend, who also works at the same place I do, isn't going to watch it until it hits BBC America, and it's just horrible to walk in every Tuesday and gush, "OMG IT WAS JUST AWESOME BUT I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY!" I told her what happened in the first episode, but haven't since, and it's killing me!

It is! Amazingly so! I was so afraid that season 2 couldn't possibly be as good as season 1, but it might actually be better.

Fantastic! I know I won't have time to check it out, but I'm excited on my mother's behalf, she loves it… ;) (And I'll hear all about the great stuff anyway, so…)
