We were talking at work about how Sontarans look like potatoes, and it reminded me of this scene from "The Sontaran Strategem", which we watched a couple of weeks ago:

Ross: He's like a potato. A baked potato. A talking baked potato.
The Doctor: Now, Ross, don't be rude. You look like a pink weasel to him.

And occurred to me how completely different DW fanfiction would be today if only the Doctor had said that in "New Earth":

Rose: They're cats.
The Doctor: Now, don't stare. Look what you look like to them, all... pink weasel.

I just saw this.
And just want to say, I audibly laughed at the “ revised” New Earth quote! Now I’m just picturing that ending of JE where Rose asks what “ the end of the sentence was”. And Meta whispering “ you’re a pink weasel “ 😂

I didn't really describe this well, but the point was that at that moment in New Earth, the Doctor said, "all... pink and yellow", and that spawned so many fanfic in which the Doctor refers to Rose as "my pink and yellow human", because the 10/Rose shippers think that it's so cute (and they don't have enough imagination to come up with their own endearments). Nonelvis actually did a statistical study on how many 10/Rose fics on Teaspoon used that phrase. And the funny thing is that they use this phrase even though it originally was meant to be derogatory (the Doctor was basically saying, "The cats think you look strange, alien, and hairless").

I love thinking that Meta whispered that. Totally new headcanon!
