Gallifrey One?

Just a question to anyone reading - are you going to Gallifrey One next month? I'm sure tkel_paris will be there, but I don't know who else. If you are, I'd like to meet up with you, so please let me know.

Also, I've been rather lazy and didn't put together any cosplays (even though I really wanted to do a Romana II to go with my husband's Four, since Lalla Ward is going to be there), but I might be willing to recycle my Donna outfit. Not sure why I'm mentioning this, but there it is. Or I can go as Five again. Or just go without a costume.

Anyway. I plan to write my handle on my convention ID so even if you don't respond here, maybe you'll see me and recognize me from that.

I'm just rambling now.

Yep, I'll be there. And I'm repeating my cosplays. Why not? They work!

Still need to find a good coat to complete the JE look, and a wig that really goes with her hair color. I had a wig, although I think it'd be better suited for a longer-haired Black Widow from the Marvel universe. And I'm not entirely sure where it is right now...

Hm, my Donna is the Journey's End look. The wig is pretty unimpressive. And yes, I'd need to go find it. :D I probably won't do the Five only because I don't feel like going through the trouble of suiting up this time. It's amazing how many layers of clothing PD had to wear for that role. I'm surprised he wasn't sweating bullets under the studio lights.

I'm starting to get all excited for this! We're a bit disappointed that there's only one Doctor this time, but at least for me, I am over the moon about all of the Gallifrey people being there - though I don't have much time for audios, all I've been doing is listening to Gallifrey and loving it. And Sean Carlsen is a darling - met him last year. :)

serenityslady and I will be there, too. We're coming in with a big Texas contingent of Whovians, and though SL actually lives all of 4-5 miles from the Marriott, she's an honorary Texan.

I've got several cosplays but I haven't made up my mind as to what, if any, I'll be bringing this year. I do plan on wearing my TARDIS kimono (long story as to why I have a TARDIS kimono) for at least one day, probably Friday and I have a TARDIS jumper and a light-up skirt I'll most probably be wearing on Thursday for LobbyCon.

If you want, I'll send you my phone number or if you're on FB, we can do the Friend thing and Message each other. Love to see you there!

When I went to Gatecon in Vancouver in 2008 I printed myself a t-shirt with a big ASTRA on it. All weekend long people would come to me, ask if I was Astra from the Stargate forum, and I would get a hug. So many people introduced themselves that I only had known as names on the internet. It was lovely!

The week after I was just alone with my friend. I told her now she needs to give me a hug every five minutes LOL

Now that's a fantastic idea! Though, I'm a nobody in this fandom, so it wouldn't really work for me. I'm just hoping that maybe there's one person there who reads fanfic and is a Donna fan and avoids ship fic and likes obscure Big Finish audios and... Oh, never mind. :D

Yeah, I admit "Are you the one with the action figures?" was part of many conversations ;)

A friend of mine had this happened to me. She got asked "Are you the famous one that writes these fanfictions?" She hadn't realized that she was famous but said yes anyway ;)

At first I did not want to go to this con. But then some of my American friends were going and I realized this is the best way to meet all of them. We made dinner plans and what to visit when we still were at home, and spent quality time together in the evenings. We even went to a restaurant that had been a Stargate filming location.

But that was the time when there were still proper online forums and we had a thread dedicated to this convention and a list of names who would go. I guess finding individuals here among LJ or FB is much harder. Good luck! Hope you'll have a nice time!

I'll be there too, with dtstrainer's Texas contingent (even though I am an LA local!). Mostly Donna I've got Pompeii One and Two, Leather Jacket, End of Time - heck, I've even got a Doctor's Daughter somewhere). But I have two others - non-Donna - that I may bring, one I actually have to MAKE.
