Oh no. Firing the Moment killed off Gallifrey and Skaro and numerous planets, systems, and galaxies, for the sake of all of the rest. If he hadn't, then either the Daleks would have won the war and systematically destroyed all of the rest of the universe, or the Time Lords would have enacted the Final Sanction and destroyed the rest of the universe.

But I can totally picture Nine looking at mass of humans walking around and thinking, "I did it for these stupid apes???" ;)
