Oh god...

The Public Call stories are coming out now, posted to the comm and to [livejournal.com profile] dwfiction. I ask my friends, please, please, don't read mine. It's called "Not Always Greener". It's terrible. Embarrassingly so. I would really appreciate it if you just ignored it altogether. Thanks.

Edit: Yes, I realize this sounds like a reverse psychology, attention whore, "let's pressure people into reading it and saying how wonderful it is" post, but it really isn't. I knew what I wanted the fic to be, but it fell far short of the mark and I gave up after a month and a half of work on it. The only reason I posted the story was because I didn't want to default on the exchange. Please, please don't read it. It's horribly embarrassing.

That is very sweet of you, but no, no, no. It's honestly bad. It'll be a waste of your time, which is far better spent telling us more stories about Meta. :)

Aw! Well, it may not be up to your personal standards, but I'm sure some people will see the qualities in it—you're a very good writer, so there's bound to be quite a difference between "argh I'm not happy with this, not at all what I meant and hoped to achieve" and "objectively actually terrible". I'm sorry you feel that way though, when one is taking writing seriously and putting lots of effort in it, that level of disappointment already feels pretty miserable :/

Well, I will admit that it's certainly not the worst fanfic ever written, but I would easily rank it as the worst thing I've done. Okay, possibly the second worst - "Emergency Slide" was pretty bad. This story has no real plot, and is just blah blah blah dialogue. Yes, it has good points - I do like the opening scene - but it's not worth anyone's time and it's only there because I had to post it. *shrug* Thanks for the words of encouragement!
