As much as David has already met the Doctor in Eleven, I don't feel he can connect as well as he can with Ten. Sounds true to me!
And then it really comes down to that meeting of fantasy and reality, the character being played vs. the actual person. Sometimes I feel like DW is very unique in that its universe is so loose with its reality that it allows us to explore ideas like this - questions of identity phrased as character vs. person. That's what I love about writing in this fandom, the limitless potential this universe has. I think so, too—the line is rather blurred. Out with the fourth wall ;)
