Yeah, he does take a lot of chances. He has this subconscious belief that his life in this universe is a gift that he didn't deserve and that he doesn't belong here, so he's eager to give back.

I'd be interested to know, after the story is done (one more installment), what you think they're going to try to do. :) The beginning isn't quite the present, as in this year. David moved into the house a few days before "The End of Time", so December 2009, and this story takes place a couple of years after that.
